Operations Manager

The Santa Fe Desert Chorale is seeking a driven individual to join its professional team as Operations Manager. This position is responsible for managing both event operations and administrative functions, including the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.



● Production and Box Office Duties:

○ Manage venue communications, event scheduling and contracting, and seating map maintenance

○ Manage ticketing: set-up events, promotions, process and fulfill sales, report and analyze sales data

○ Integrate payment processing services and daily reconciliation

○ Fulfill online merchandising orders and manage merchandise inventory

○ Coordinate housing and transportation for artists and seasonal staff, and travel as needed

○ Hire, train, and oversee seasonal Box Office Assistant and House Manager

○ Oversee Front of House at events: ticket and merchandise sales, will call, safety protocols, etc. ○ Prepare and account for cash boxes for door ticket sales and merchandise

○ Reconcile performance ticket and merchandise sales and generate pre- and post-event reports


● Administrative Duties:

○ Oversee CRM system(s) and training for all users, and oversee data entry procedures

○ Maintain and update internal calendars, including Master Production Calendar

○ Oversee and maintain office equipment, supplies, and office-related vendor contracts (i.e. office equipment, IT services, etc.), including report submission per contracts

○ Design and implement improved filing systems for physical and electronic files and archives ○ Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures

○ Maintain Employee Handbook in coordination with Executive Director ○ Assist Executive Director with implementation of the five-year strategic plan

○ Assist Executive Director with administrative recruiting and new employee training

○ Assist with board meeting support, special event production, and donor events as needed


● Maintain working knowledge of operational best practices and provide recommendations to Executive Director

● Other duties as may be assigned

Education and Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

● Prior experience of at least 3 years in a closely related position is preferred

● Ability to drive a motor vehicle with valid drivers’ license

● Ability to lift up to 30 pounds (up to 10 pounds frequently)

● Knowledge and appreciation of the choral art form preferred 



● M-F, 40 hours/week (flexible schedule outside of 9 am-5 pm, including remote work, is negotiable)

● Evening and weekend hours will be required during production periods, as well as occasionally throughout the year for special events

Compensation and Benefits: 

This is a full time, exempt position:

● Salary commensurate with experience

● 15 days of vacation and 6 sick days annually
